Georgetown is Washington, DC's oldest and original neighborhood, full of charm, scenic parks, Michelin-starred restaurants, and remarkable events for family and friends. This town provides residents and visitors with romantic, vibrant, and exciting experiences, thanks to the copious green spaces and historic row houses on cobblestone streets.

The neighborhood's narrow and tree-lined streets are home to immaculately maintained row houses, walk-up apartment buildings, and gated embassies that radiate sophistication, charm, and class.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

Georgetown's cobblestone streets boast an array of restaurants that serve hearty and delightful meals. Bourbon Steak at the Four Seasons is a distinctive, upscale steakhouse right at the heart of Georgetown that invites you to indulge and relax. The restaurant, run by Chef Michael Mina, serves you classic Americana infused with the chef's arsenal of flavors and flair, a detailed wine list, and seafood.

Georgetown Cupcake is a destination for designer cupcakes baked on-site with the finest and freshest ingredients. Inspired by their grandmother's recipe, sisters Katherine and Sophie Kallinis followed their baking passion and created this cupcake wonderland.

Michelin-starred restaurant, Reverie, is Georgetown's gem that offers an intimate dining experience from the award-winning chef Johnny Spero. You can sit at the counter for a front-row-seat experience of his culinary artistry in the dining room, enveloped by sweet melodic tunes and a disarmingly warm staff.

Shop at M Street, the best shopping street in the country, with boutiques lining up the streets in all four directions–Downtown DC and Foggy Bottom to the east and Virginia through Key Bridge to the west. Men can shop from retailers like Barney's and All Saints Spitalfields, while women can buy from household name boutiques like Victoria's Secret, Free People, and Coach.

Things to Do

Shopping isn't the only thing you can do in Georgetown; pick your adventure from Book Hill to the exciting waterfront. Experience the largest ice rink in the district over the holidays at Washington Harbor. Open for skating every day; you can book for general or private admission.

Float or stroll through the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal (C&0), learning about the great history, culture, and technology of the canal that runs along the Potomac River between Cumberland, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

What remains of the canal from the previously bustling tobacco port is a serene towpath perfect for cycling, walking, or running. Additionally, visitors can view this area of Georgetown from a unique vantage point thanks to the one-hour guide from a canal boat.

Waterfront Park and Views is a small but alluring park that's mixed with scenic overlooks, rain gardens, pathways, and shady trees. Residents and visitors come to the park for quiet time, personal reflection, skating, cycling, or kayaking.
